after i published my last post the two yellow vertical lines that were making their presence known on my beloved laptop monitor started to flicker, and then proceeded to turn my monitor all white... and then black.
while my data (all my photos, music, documents) is safe and sound, i currently have no access to it.
no photos,
no photoshop,
no music playlists,
none of the current projects i am working on,
including my catering spreadsheets and menus for upcoming events.
*sigh*
i am using jimmy's computer when i can, but i will be offline for a bit while we handle the technical difficulties (read: affording a new powerbook) here.
is it strange to feel like i just lost my right arm? i truly had no idea how attached i was to my computer until i didn't have it anymore.
addicted?
i would say yes.
i will miss you beloved macintosh powerbook.
we had many wonderful years together.
*****
in happier news, we find out tomorrow if we are having a boy or a girl.
i will post an update as soon as i can.

I'm absolutely the same. My iBook wouldn't switch on when I woke up on Friday morning. The shops were shut for Friday prayers and I had to wait until Saturday to buy a new plug/cord to confirm that the problem was only with the plug... in the interim I felt very nervous and somewhat bereft.
I've embraced my computer -addiction and have decided not to think anything more about it. It could be so very much worse (this country is full of opium and i've never touched it... i gave up cigarettes a couple of years ago - all in all my laptop addiction seems unlikely to be causing me too much harm!)
I've heard of babies discretely hiding their private parts during scans and keeping their parents guessing. I like to think I would have done that as a wee'un if I'd thought about it.

i totally get the attachment factor.
this is where the PC Guy would break into a dance around you, teasing you about your Mac state of mind. ; )
i am feeling some feminine energy around you...but that could also be because you're so feminine.
we'll see if i am right. either way, your baby is YUMMY.
